RoboForex CopyFX: copying inside the broker
CopyFX is RoboForex's in-house copy service: showcase, account and execution in one place. We look at the trader fee models, the investor and provider roles, and the question that matters most before anything else — whether you can use it at all.
What CopyFX is and where it lives
CopyFX is a broker's copying service: a trader publishes an account, an investor subscribes, and orders execute inside the same broker's infrastructure. There is no third-party intermediary between you and the market, so latency is usually lower than in an "independent platform plus broker" pairing.
Check availability before registering. The broker's site states plainly that RoboForex Ltd and its partner do not work with clients from the EU, the EEA or the UK, nor with a number of other countries. That is not a small print footnote but a filter that removes some readers at the very first step — confirm your status with support before committing funds.
CopyFX: copying trades as an investor and as a trader
The service works both ways, and the rules for a subscriber and for a strategy author differ more than the marketing copy suggests.
Picks a trader from the ranking, sets the amount and the copy parameters, and pays a fee under the model the trader has chosen.
the risk sits with youPublishes an account, sets the fee model and its size, and manages subscribers. Their income depends on the funds attracted and on performance.
incentivised by volumeBroker services usually let the trader choose: a share of profit, a charge per volume or a combination. The model is shown on the card — check it before you subscribe.
count it over a yearThe trade is copied without an external hop, so the gap from the trader's price is smaller than when copying through a third-party platform.
the upside of broker servicesHow a broker service differs from an independent platform
| Criterion | CopyFX and other broker services | Independent platform |
|---|---|---|
| Where the account is | With the same broker | With a partner broker; the platform is separate |
| Execution latency | Minimal: no external hop | Higher: the order passes through the service |
| Choice of strategies | Limited to the broker's own clients | Wider, but of uneven quality |
| Who changes the terms | The broker, unilaterally | The platform and the broker, each on their own side |
| Entry threshold | Usually low | Often higher |
| What to do in a dispute | Take it up with the broker | Work out which side is at fault |
For a forex trader who already holds a RoboForex account, CopyFX is the shortest route: no second broker and no separate registration. The flip side is that you are tied to one pool of strategies and to one company's terms.
CopyFX: short answers
- Where the investor's money is held
- On your own account with RoboForex. The trader receives a fee under the service rules and never controls your funds.
- Can copying be switched off
- Yes, the subscription is cancelled in your account area. Check what happens to open positions in the service rules before you subscribe — platforms handle this differently.
- Is CopyFX available from Russia
- The broker lists Russia among the countries it does not serve, and separately excludes clients from the EU, the EEA and the UK. Check your current status before registering.
- What the investor pays
- A fee to the trader under the model they chose, plus the usual trading costs: spread, swap and account commission.
Exact rates, minimum amounts and position-closing rules change — check them in the broker's account area rather than in reviews.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better value: CopyFX or ZuluTrade
They are different setups. CopyFX is faster and simpler to start with because everything sits inside one broker. ZuluTrade offers a wider choice of strategies and its own risk tools, but adds a hop between you and the market.
How reliable is the trader showcase
As at any venue, the ranking highlights return. Candidates have to be screened by track record, drawdown by equity and number of trades — the method is set out in the guide to choosing a trader.
Does the fee model affect how the trader behaves
Yes. A per-volume charge rewards frequent trading; a profit share rewards chasing returns at any cost. Read the model together with the trading style: a grid trader on a per-volume fee is a bad combination.
How does CopyFX work?
It is a copying service inside the broker: the trader showcase, the account and execution all sit with one company, and no separate registration on a third-party service is needed.
How much does copying cost at CopyFX?
The terms are set by the trader: a share of profit or a turnover charge, and sometimes both. On top of that come the account's usual trading costs.
What is the minimum deposit at CopyFX?
The minimum is determined by the account type and by the individual trader's requirement. The workable minimum is above the formal one: the size must not be rounded to the minimum lot.
Can you copy at CopyFX through MetaTrader?
The subscription is set up in the service's client area, while the trades go to your trading account, which is also available in MetaTrader. The terminal is not required for copying to work.
How reliable are trader statistics at CopyFX?
Metrics are computed by the broker from the trading account rather than filled in by hand. That protects against a drawn return but does not answer the question of the strategy's quality.
How do you leave a subscription at CopyFX?
Through the service's client area. It is worth confirming how open positions are handled and when the fee is settled before committing funds.
