Affiliate link disclosure — ACTF
Affiliate link disclosure: some links to platforms are referral links. Here is how that works, what it affects and what it does not.
How affiliate links work
If you open an account through an affiliate link, the platform pays the project a fee. Your terms do not change: the commission does not rise and the tariff stays the same as it would be on a direct visit.
What this means in practice
If you would rather not use affiliate links, go to the platform's site directly through a search engine. It makes no difference to the content you read here.
Frequently asked questions
What is an affiliate link?
A link with tags by which a platform recognises that a visitor came from us and can pay a fee. For you the price and the terms are the same as on a direct visit.
Do affiliate links affect your conclusions?
No. Weak points are examined the same way at partners and at everyone else, and the order in the catalogue is set by platform type and market, not by the size of a fee.
Are all links on the site affiliate links?
No. Some links lead to documents, specifications and primary sources against which we verify terms — and they bring no fee.
Does a reader pay more by using such a link?
No. The fee is paid by the platform out of its own margin; the referral does not affect the client's terms.
Why do you use affiliate links at all?
Because it lets us avoid selling reviews and avoid a paywall. The alternative is commissioned material, which is worse for a reference site.
Can I avoid using your link?
Of course: any platform can be opened directly, and it changes nothing about what the site says.
